This page explains what Career Guidance Clare does — and doesn't — use cookies and similar technologies for.

1. The short version

We don't run any analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies on this site. There's no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no PostHog, no Hotjar, and no advertising network here. We don't set any cookies of our own.

2. What does happen in the background

  • Google Fonts. This site loads two typefaces directly from Google's servers (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). This is not a cookie, but it does mean your browser sends a request directly to Google, which receives your IP address as part of that request, in the same way it would for any website using Google Fonts this way.
  • Cloudflare. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, delivers this site and protects it from automated abuse. If it ever needs to run a security check — for example during a bot or denial-of-service challenge — it may set a strictly necessary cookie to complete that check. This is not used for tracking or advertising.
  • Revolut (at checkout only). If you start a purchase, you're taken to a payment page hosted by Revolut, away from this site. Any cookies set there are Revolut's, under Revolut's own cookie and privacy policy at revolut.com/legal/privacy.

3. Why no consent banner

Under Irish and EU rules (the ePrivacy Regulations and GDPR), a cookie consent banner is required for non-essential cookies — typically analytics and advertising. Because this site doesn't use any, we haven't added one. If that changes — for example, if we introduce analytics in future — we'll update this policy and add a consent banner at the same time.

4. Controlling this yourself

You can block third-party requests like Google Fonts using your browser's privacy settings or a browser extension, though doing so may affect how the site looks. Most browsers also let you block all cookies entirely via their settings menu.
